About Us
The focus of Sukoon Healing of the Minds is to bridge the gap in providing culturally informed resources and mental health services to the Minnesota community.
Shabaz’s dream was to become a doctor and he did everything he could to accomplish it. He aspired to help others before himself, and studying to be a doctor was a natural choice. His belief in the importance of taking care of others inspires us every day to work to improve the health and wellness of our community.

Our Journey
By remembering our purpose in life and who we serve, the foundation of the Dr. Shabaz Charity Group’s mission began in March 2019 as an organization to honor and preserve the loving memory of the dreams and aspirations Shabaz wanted to pursue. He genuinely believed in the importance of taking care of others, and his passion is what inspires our mission to work towards improving the health and wellness of our community.
The Dr. Shabaz Charity Group devoted the first two years to community need based projects and connecting with local community members and leaders. In late 2021, it became clear that the Minnesota community was lacking a platform for Mental Health Resources and Support. Shifting the focus to Mental Health became eminent, therefore Dr. Shabaz Charity Group has rebranded in and is now known as Sukoon Healing of the Minds.
